I have very recently been told by a teacher I'm not cut out for sixth form simply because I'm not very good at writing essays, just because I struggle with that doesn't mean I'm not smart I just have different strengths. In my media I got a B still think I'm not cut out for it?
Everybody is smart with something you just have to find out what you're especially good at. If people put you down calling you dumb then just ignore them you can do so much better than those people.
You can achieve anything.
'been told by a teacher I'm not cut out for sixth form simply because I'm not very good at writing essays' - I'd like to know which teacher had the gall to tell you that. Incidentally, if said teacher mysteriously disappears, it wasn't me. :)
ReplyDeleteIntelligence is a quality that comes in many breeds. The sooner people realise that, the better!
it was a psychology teacher who we have for 10 weeks, i really cannot stand her!! >:(
ReplyDeletei am intelligent but not the writing side of intelligence
The last thing you tell a sixth form student is that they 'aren't cut out for it'. The stupid woman should, instead of demoralising you in a way which is frankly unprofessional and insensitive, should be giving you the help you need to improve your essay writing.
ReplyDeleteAlthough if you ask me, regardless of subject, the best rule you can follow is this:
DON'T FORGET TO PEE! :P
Whoa. Massive fail. I used 'should' twice in the sentence about demoralising. :P
ReplyDeleteSee? Even us obsessive writers make cock-ups. I wrote a novel once in which one of the characters just disappeared accidentally and wasn't mentioned ever again. It was hilarious, in retrospect.
